Rolled oats are better known to most of us as porridge. The breakfast cereal of choice for countless millions of people across the world. A lightly processed, slow-release, wholegrain food which has sustained man and beast for thousands of years. Traditionally made from dehusked and steamed oat groats which are rolled into flakes before being lightly toasted. Yes, oats are great for people. But what about oats for dogs?

How Should I Serve Porridge to My Dog?
Dogs cant chew, swallow or digest raw oatmeal very well. The best way to serve it is cooked in porridge form. Porridge is perfect for your dog if you serve it the right way!
Did you know that a lot of dogs are lactose intolerant? This means that their stomachs cant process the lactase typically found in milk. With that in mind, you should avoid cooking your dogs porridge with milk use plain water instead!
You might think that you could substitute cows milk for coconut milk when cooking porridge for your pooch, but you really shouldnt. While coconut isnt toxic to dogs, it contains certain chemicals that could cause digestive problems in your pup.
